QUEEN'S PARK RANGERS
v. EXETER CITY
Queen's Park Rangers showed fine staying power in the Christmas morning match at Shepherd's Bush, London. They scored only once before the interval against Exeter City, but afterwards they ran the Grecians off their legs and in the end won easily, by four goals to nil.

EXETER CITY
Exeter City, after conceding a goal to the Rangers, scored by the Corinthian amateur, W.G.Charlton, in the first half, had to do a lot of defending in the second. Bott, Cheetham, and Fitzgerald scored further goals, and the City finished up a well beaten side. Angus was no match for the bustling and burly Cheetham, but good defensive play by Stimpson and Tierney prevented further goals.

CITY RESERVES 4
ARGYLE RESERVES 2.
If to be present meant hurrying a little over the "Xmas Pudding" it was well worth it. The crowd of 1,000 who watched the Southern League match at St James's Park were treated to a keen and clever game. Plymouth included two players who only joined the club during the week. They were Ryan from Glasgow Celtic and Dougan from Tunbridge Wells Rangers. The City were two goals up in the first twenty minutes, a shot by Pope being deflected past Harper by a Plymouth defender, Johnson then increasing the lead from Pope's pass. Griffiths scored for the Argyle after Chesters had saved one shot and another had rebounded off the crossbar. Ten minutes after the start of the second half F.Smith scored Exeter's third goal from a pass by Pope. Plymouth retaliated briskly, their liveliest forwards being their new outside-right, Dougan, McFarlane, centre-forward, and Wharton, outside-left, and after half an hour they reduced their deficit through Hobbs deflecting a centre from Dougan into the City net. In the closing stages the City were definitely on top, and Johnson scored their final goal from a centre by F.Smith.
City Reserves:- Chesters; Hobbs, Brown; Pollard, Bamsey, Barnes; F.Smith, Ebdon, Johnson, McGill, and Pope.
