DAVIES SHADOWS GALLACHER: FAST NOTTS ATTACK HELD

Wednesday, September 8th 1937,at County Ground, Nottingham.

NOTTS COUNTY 0 EXETER CITY 0.
If ever a team honestly deserved a point and anything else that the gods could have given them that team was Exeter City, guests of Notts County, hitherto one hundred per cent. leaders of the Southern Section. Despite the fact that no goals were scored it was a magnificent game.

Notts:- Blyth; Mills, Feebury; Corkhill, McLenahan, Beech; Halton, Chalmers, Gallacher, Hatton, Fallon.
City:- Tierney; Brown, Wallace; Kavanagh, Davies, Shadwell; Coulston, Ebdon, Bowl, Storey, Miles.
Referee:- Mr R.G.Rudd, of Croydon.
Attendance:- 15,000.

Tierney was the hero of the match, but Blyth, in the other goal, was very safe also, if not so spectacular, and Davies made a fine contribution to the result in a grand way. He shadowed Gallacher most effectively and must take his place high in the honours list of the match.
