Northampton Town (a)
Exeter and District League
Newton Corinthians (h)
Saturday, April 3rd.
NORTHAMPTON TOWN 2 EXETER CITY 1.
The City made a great fight of it at Northampton today, but were beaten by two goals to one. For a considerable period it looked as if they would succeed in at least saving a point. Exeter, who deserved to draw, had two goals by Williams disallowed for offside. Outstanding in the defence were Tierney, both backs, and Angus.

EXETER CITY
The afternoon was bright and sunny and there was no wind. As usual, the Northampton County Ground was in perfect condition. Seventeen minutes had gone when Exeter took the lead. A mis-kick by Thayne let Williams through, and the City centre forward made no mistake, shooting into the net off the goalpost. Allen proved that he is still a deadly marksman when he equalised, crashing the ball into the top of the net from ten yards' range. Two goals by Williams were both disallowed for offside. The Cobblers were on top for a long period in the second half, they having scored through Tolland within a minute of the restart. The attendance was 6,343, and the receipts £330.
EXETER AND DISTRICT LEAGUE.

The City Reserves won by 2 goals to 1 with the following team : Brooking; Hobbs, Coles; Barnes, Bamsey, McMahon; Lawrence, Ebdon, C. Smith, Pope, and Chudleigh.
