Third Division South Cup 2nd Round
Swindon Town v ECFC

Third Division South Cup R2
SWINDON TOWN 2
EXETER CITY 0.

Southern Section Cup, 2nd round.
Played at the Wiltshire County Ground, on Wednesday, November 17th.

Three changes were made in Exeter City's team which travelled to Swindon for the Southern Section Cup-tie on Wednesday. Ben Clarke, Farrell, and Ebdon replaced Wallace, Angus, and Bussey, who were all injured in last Saturday's match against Cardiff City.

SWINDON TOWN
Wildman Swinden Smith Richardson Morrall Wilcockson Jones Lucas Emery Bradley Hetherington

Brown B.Clarke Shadwell Bamsey Farrell Coulston Ebdon Bowl

EXETER CITY

The City showed slightly the better understanding at the start but defences were generally on top. Bowl made one or two raids but was well held by Morrall, and B.Clarke made a timely clearance from a shot by Jones. Lucas in eighteen minutes and Emery in thirty scored for Swindon, who were the more forceful side. Exeter missed a good chance in the second half when after Wildman lost possession in a crowded goalmouth first Ebdon then Coulston finished tamely. The City's finishing was deplorably weak, and not one man in their attack impressed as a likely marksman.

THE KING MAY WATCH
CITY v ARGYLE!

Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle will play an exhibition match, at Launceston, on December 1st. It is just possible that His Majesty the King, who is due to visit the Cornish town on that day, will watch the game. The clubs will be unable to place their first teams in the field, as on the same day they are due to meet at Plymouth in the semi final of the Devon Professional Championship, for which, according to Devon County F.A. rule, the best available teams must play.
