Exeter City lost at Northampton today because the forwards did not show the requisite thrust. As in the game with Bristol Rovers, the attack was below par apart from Coulston and Bussey, who were between them responsible for the five best efforts.

The only score of the match was obtained about a quarter of an hour before the interval, and while it was an unsatisfactory one for the reason that Dickinson appeared to be offside, the Cobblers were deserving winners. Exeter's best players were Bamsey, Church, and Ben Clarke.

J.Warren, the Combe Martin amateur, led the City Reserves today in their Southern League match with Bath City at St James's Park. A.Mellish, a member of the undefeated Lympstone team, also played for the City, at right back.
