CITY WIN POOR GAME BY 2-NIL
Ebdon Gets a Goal: (And the Biggest Cheer) Exeter City won, but that was the only satisfaction of today's home match with Clapton Orient. Typical end of the season listlessness was all too plainly to be seen, and on this showing the game was a drab and uninspiring duel between two poor sides.

Passes went astray with irritating frequency, and much of the football was played at half-speed and unredeemed by cleverness. Brown was the best of the home defence, and Ebdon outstanding in the forward line. It was Ebdon who scored the two goals by which the City won, and these goals were a fitting reward for the most wholehearted and in dustrious attacker on the field. Ebdon's first goal, which he headed from Angus's lobbed pass a couple of minutes after the change over, was greeted with the biggest, and almost the only, cheer afternoon. of the

CITY RESERVES v BARRY.
The last Southern League match of the season was played at St James's Park on Wednesday afternoon between the City Reserves and Barry. The attendance was about three hundred.
CITY RESERVES: Tierney; F.Leach (Woodbury) and Topping; S.Barnes, A.Coles, and C.Sutherley (Chudleigh); R.Southcombe (Bideford), Farrell, Pollard, K. Waldron and W.Clarke.
BARRY Kirk (ex-Grecian); Pulling, Jones; Mason, Turner, Lewis; Allen, Carless, Green, Thomas, Dakin.
Barry outplayed the City Reserves in the first half, Dakin and Green scoring. Exeter improved, and W.Clarke scored twice after the interval.
Result:- City Reserves 2 Barry 2.
