Exeter City won their second away match off the reel. Their attack was in brilliant form at Aldershot and the forwards scored five times in a game which was a succession of thrills. Whilst Aldershot were admittedly handicapped by injuries to their goalkeeper and centre half in the closing stages Exeter had the game well won before then. Their team was always better balanced and more methodical. The inclusion of Lewis and Challis on the wings definite ly made for added power. There was an unusual incident in the first half after the goals by Ebdon and Wardle had given Exeter an early lead. Blood handled, quite accidentally, in the penalty area, and the ref eree awarded a spot kick. Brooks took it, shot wide, and Mr. Clark ordered the kick to be re-taken because Goodfellow was not standing on his goal line. At the second attempt, taken by Hold, Aldershot reduced the arrears. Exeter could have had more goals, for Ebdon twice shot against the upright with the goalkeeper beaten.
