Exeter City's revival was a timely as it was pleasing. They were worthy winners of a struggle which had all the elements of a Cup tie yet was cleanly fought. It was a hard game and one which was not marred by doubtful tactics. Exeter's first goal was scored by Walker, who fairly crashed the ball into the roof of the net from Wardle's corner kick. The City just about deserved their lead, which they held until 15 minutes after the interval. Then a spectacular shot from Lever sped out of Singleton's reach, hit the far upright and rebounded along the goal line. The referee signalled a goal as Singleton fell and scooped the ball away. The battle for supremacy then started all over again and only ended when Bowden from Regan's clever pass netted the winning goal for the Grecians.
- REGAN NOW A PROFESSIONAL.
Douglas Regan, formerly of Ingleside (Plymouth League) and serving with the Fleet Air Arm, has signed professional forms for Exeter City. - Harry Bowl, Exeter City's pre-war centre forward, was yesterday transferred to Lancaster City.
