Results do not always tell the true story of a team's ability. Two days ago the City played their best football of the season on the Queen's Park Rangers' ground, only to lose. Today at Nottingham the Grecians were overplayed by a powerful home side but managed to save a point against opponents who did everything but score in the second half. Singleton was the star of the game, making many brilliant saves, two at point-blank range from Evans and Cumner being particularly good. Johnstone and Thompson were a pair of unflinching defenders when the County were pressing continuously after the interval. Lyman scored for Notts in 7 minutes and Ebdon for Exeter in 22.
