QUEEN'S PARK RANGERS 2  (Hartburn 2)

Half-time City 0 Rangers 2.
League 3rd Division South, at St James's Park.
Attendance 12,000.

Queen's Park Rangers appeared at Exeter this afternoon in the role of prospective League champions, holding a lead of four points over Bournemouth & Boscombe in the Southern Section. Against the pride of West London Exeter City announced one change, Dick Ebdon, the veteran centre-forward being recalled after being out of the first-team for half the season. He received a big cheer from the thousands of City followers who have long admired his ever willing and whole-hearted leadership. Though Ebdon is nearing the end of his career he is still the most dangerous man near goal on Exeter's books. As expected, the Rangers won today's match. They scored two goals in the first half and never looked like losing. Exeter's goal was scored by Bartholomew from a penalty midway through the second half. Dick Ebdon tried his hardest to instil some life into his team, but received little support. Queen's Park Rangers by their victory today are practically assured of the championship.
