EASY AFTER A SLOW START

By EXONIAN.

Defeating Swindon Town, Exeter City gained their first victory over these opponents since December, 1932. For the first half an hour, however, the game ran strongly in favour of the visitors, whose speedy wingers, Williams and Dryden, repeatedly threatened danger.

When Owen, a clever young centre- forward, raced between the home defence to shoot a great goal-low and hard into the corner of the net rner of in the 28th minute Swindon seemed to be heading towards an triumph. easy

After that, however, a transformed Exeter attacked constantly and two quick goals just before the interval rewarded their determined on- slaughts. Ebdon bustled through the centre to score the first with a low drive and Smart ran the second into an empty net after the goalkeeper had failed to intercept a low centre from Regan,

The second half was all Exeter, who were unlucky not to add to their score
