CITY V BRIGHTON
Hoyle's one lapse cost Exeter City a point at St James's Park on Christmas Day. The City were leading by a goal, scored by Mackay, until 20 minutes from time. Then Brighton forced a corner. Hoyle was charged by McNichol and lost the ball, which rolled into the net.
In an entertaining game the City gave an improved display, especially in defence, where Clark, Johnstone, Fallon, and Walker excelled. Harrower was the best forward

Exeter City Reserves 1 (Smart).
A sparkling second-half display gained Torquay United Reserves their win on Christmas Day at Plainmoor. Exeter obtained an early lead through inside-right Smart.
Both Torquay goals came after the interval, centre- forward Ebdon scoring the first, and inside-left Thomas the second.
