Match 29
5th February 1949
Swindon Town (a)

Friendly
City Reserves v Royal Navy X1

Saturday, February 5th 1949.

Swindon Town 1 (Jones)
Exeter City 1 (Regan)
Attendance: 13444

Fred Durrant, who made his debut for the City today, looks as though he will solve the club's most pressing problem, that of the centre forward position. Durrant has weight and height and knows how to use it. He is persistent and keeps a defence on the alert. These were his biggest assets today at Swindon. Where Durrant did not impress was in marksmanship on the slippery pitch.

City team:- Hoyle; Johnstone, Clark; Bartholomew, Walker, Fallon; Dymond, Mackay, Durrant, Harrower, Regan.

Friendly
Exeter City Reserves v Royal Navy X1
