Hastings United (a)

Saturday, March 25th 1950.
EXETER CITY 0 BRISTOL CITY 0.

Attendance 9,000.

When a goalkeeper does not have a worthwhile shot to stop throughout the game, the odds are overwhelmingly on his being a member of the winning side.
Singleton, of Exeter City, had that experience today at St James's Park, but his team gained only one point. Like most goalless struggles, this game was featured by defects in each of the rival attacks. Exeter's forwards seldom got going to any purpose, and the occasional spurt by Mackay was the only relief to a game that was mainly drab and artless.

Exeter City: Singleton; Johnstone, Clark; Fallon, Goddard, Davey; Mackay, Smart, Smith, McClelland, Regan.
Bristol City:- Morgan; Guy, Stone; Peacock, Roberts, White; Spalding, Eisentrager, Rodgers, Lowrie, Williams.

CHINGFORD 1 (Jefferies) CITY RESERVES 1 (Rew).

Geoffrey Peach, the City's young amateur inside-left who has played for Torpoint, was injured at Chingford on Saturday and went off the field limping badly. The injury to his knee proved to be worse than it was thought to be at the time, and he is unlikely to play again
this season. Raymond Howe, who joined the City from the St James's Youth Club in November, figured at right half in a much-changed team.

Wednesday, March 29th 1950.
