Exeter City are safe! Victory over Millwall by 2 goals to 1 means that the re-election bogey no longer stalks the City's camp. But what shocks the men of Exeter gave their supporters during the second half, which was marked by much indifferent forward play and Occasional signs of panic in defence! On a rain-swept playing pitch the City had the measure of Millwall before the interval. Smart in 14 minutes and Clark, a penalty in 30 minutes awarded against Reeves for fouling Smart, scored for Exeter during that period. Only seven minutes of the second half had elapsed when Morgan got a goal for Millwall. Two minutes later a penalty was awarded against Goddard for a foul, but Jones shot a foot wide from the "spot."
