Southern League
Worcester City (a)
EXETER CITY V PORT VALE.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH 1951.
This was Exeter City at their worst. The team which held Chelsea to a draw at St James's Park and only lost by a couple of second half goals at Stamford Bridge in the replay, and followed this up by hitting the jackpot against the Argyle, touched rock bottom in today's match, and were defeated on their own pitch by 3 goals to none. The Grecians in fact played so badly that hundreds of people left St James's Park long before the end of the game. City 0 Port Vale 3 (Polk, Hulligan, Martin).

Southern League:
Worcester win after early set back
Worcester City 3, Exeter City 1
DESPITE being a goal down after minutes, there never seemed any doubt about Worcester City winning their Southern League match. for they had a far bigger share of the play, and it was only a fine display by Salter in the Exeter goal that prevented a larger margin. One save he made from Haines was perhaps the best seen on the ground this season. Exeter, however, were always dangerous when they broke away, and they opened the score through Dunlop. The lead was short-lived, for Clift a dangerous raider on the right wing, placed the ball cleverly for Haines to equalise.
In the second half Mogford scored his 99th goal since joining Worcester. Roberts, who obtained the third. scored his first goal for Worcester's SouthernLeague side. Both these players were always in the picture when around goal, and Dutton, Jones and Baynham were sound defenders.
Worcester City. - Baynham: God- frey, Newbold; Jones, Dutton, Brunt: Clift. Smith, Mogford. Roberts. Haynes.
Exeter Team:- Salter; Doyle, Powell; Fallon, Carter, Wilkinson; Dunlop, Smart, Greenaway, Greenwood, Hutchings.
