Match 37
24th February 1951
Colchester United (h)
EXETER CITY V COLCHESTER UNITED.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH 1951.
A notable feature of Exeter City's biggest win of the season was the strength of the half back line. Harrower, whose ball control was an example for all to follow, gave a classic display on the muddy surface. His passes were models of accuracy. Goddard's cool defence, shrewd positioning, and incisive tackling, made the City skipper another distinguished personality in this match. Davey was without attaining the high standard of the two first named, more than a useful link. His main virtue was thoughtful distribution.
Exeter City: Singleton; Warren, Clark; Harrower, Goddard, Davey; Short, Smyth, Smith, Mackay, Regan.
