Match 38
3rd March 1951
Bristol Rovers (a)

BRISTOL ROVERS v EXETER CITY.

SATURDAY, MARCH 3RD 1951.

Deficient in stamina and thrust, Exeter City finished up a well beaten side at Eastville today. The greater pace and attacking strength of the Rovers were rightly reflected in the 3-1 Bristol victory, and so marked was the difference that the City, and not the home team, looked to have been participants in a gruelling midweek Cup-tie three days ago. (Bristol Rovers were defeated by Newcastle United in a sixth round replay).
