Biographical Text
George Duke was a Luton Town player when he is understood to have made a wartime guest appearance for Exeter City during 1945.
Starting with Sussex club Southwick, George was signed by Luton in 1939 where he stayed either side of the war making 16 league appearances. In May 1949 he signed for Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic, for whom he made a further 10 league appearances, ahead of playing in non-league football for Guildford City, Snowdown Colliery Welfare and Ramsgate Athletic.
George died on 18 March 1988 in Worthing, Sussex.
