Time was running short, the score stood at one apiece then Bournemouth attacked, Buchanan punted the ball forward, Wood the City Centre half was beaten to the ball by Cross who hit a right footed shot that beat a diving Singleton to earn Bournemouth two points. Exeter had taken a first half lead when Dailey had scored after 25 minutes and within two minutes of this City deserved another goal when Murphy hit the upright. In the 29th minute Bournemouth had equalised when Harrison scored. The situation remained the same until the closing minutes in a fairly unimpressive game. Wood was quietly efficient in the City defence and methodical in his distribution Digby had an impressive game at Outside left and was Exeters best forward. In the art of running into open space, Digby set an example that the other City forwards did not emulate. Man ior man the two teams were evenly balanced and a drawn game was all either team really deserved.
