Hereford United can be optimistic about their replay with Exeter City at home on Thursday. They were certainly the superior side in the 1-1 drawn game at St. James' Park.
The forwards moved more smoothly, and the defence always had a more confident look. Here ford's captain, ex-Blues man Billy Hughes was the strong man of the defence.
Hereford got the first goal in the 11th minute, when Eddie O'Hara headed through. Exeters equalising goal was headed by Samuels.

An eye injury to centre forward George Mountford upset Hereford's attack in the closing stages.
