TWO goals in two minutes by Eddie O'Hara, Irish Inside left put Hereford. Southern League team, into the Second Round of the Cup yesterday.
It looked as if this replay was going to end in a grim goalless dray, even though Hereford were on top. Then came the inspired two minutes in which Hereford won the match. O'Hara, formerly with Birmingham and signed this season, hooked in grand centre from outside right Tommy Bowen in the sixty-third minute to give Hereford the lead.
Scored Again
The cheers had hardly died away when O'Hara scored again. O'Hara was put onside when a pass by Vernon Crowe was defected by Exeter back, Jim Storey. O'Hara went through and crashed the ball into the roof of the net. The Exeter team protested strongly, but the referee, Mr. H. Hall, of
Harrow, allowed the goal. He said afterwards: "I deemed that O'Hata was not interfering with play and he was played onside so the goal was perfectly all right"
This goal knocked the spirit out of Exeter, though they were never really dangerous again.
Andy Donaldson Exeter centre forward was twice unlucky in got seuring Just after the start. He headed inches outside the post. then raftled the framework with a stinging shot
- Hereford won on merit and now meet Wigan Athletic, Lancashire Combination club, in the next round.
