The FA Youth Cup Results

The FA Youth Challenge Cup was started and is funded by the FA. Its inaugural year was 1952-53.
There were no round exemptions until 1962/63, after that it was then based on the clubs previous performances.

The Rules of the FA Youth Cup.

MATCH DATES
All ties must be played in the stipulated week, kick-off 7p.m. unless mutually agreed otherwise.
Matches in the F.A. Youth Cup competition take priority over all other matches with the only exception being home first team commitments.

MATCH ARRANGEMENT FORM
Home clubs must ensure that the match arrangement form is completed and received by the F.A. Competitions Department by the date set for each round.

PLAYER QUALIFICATION DATE
The player qualification date is 12 noon on the day previous to the date fixed for playing the match, this includes postponements.

AGE GROUP BRACKETS
Only those players are eligible to take part who have reached the age of 15 years by midnight on 31st August of the current season and not reached the age of 18 years as at midnight on 31st August of the current season.

Exeter City did not always take part, in particular when the youth set up was abandoned. If you have any further information or notice any errors or omissions, please contact us:-

I played in the match at Swansea City 1980 It was at the old vetch field ground Swansea were in division 1 at the time with John Toshack as manager The Youth team that night had 11 welsh youth international players playing for them. It was men against boys we did well to keep the score to 3-0
