Biographical Text

Ray Wallace was a former Stoke City and England under-21 defender who had a pre-season trial with Exeter City in 2000. Twin of Rod Wallace (Southampton, Leeds, Rangers and England under-21) and brother of Danny Wallace (Southampton, Manchester United and England).

Turned professional with Southampton in 1988 and, after playing 35 league games for the Saints, went on to Leeds (7 league appearances) before having 179 games in the league for Stoke City. Also turning out for Swansea, Reading and Hull on loan, he had most recently been with Airdrieonians and Drogheda United when he arrived at St James' Park as a 31-year-old striving to remain in the professional game.

With nothing forthcoming from his time with the Grecians, he returned to the Stoke area and played for Witton Albion.
