Not signing for Exeter City after his pre-season trial, he joined Brighton and had 13 league outings as the Sussex club won promotion from the fourth-tier and the divisional championship. He then had two sesons with Shrewsbury Town followed by a spell with Halifax Town in the Conference.

Going into management he took charge of Leek Town in 2006 followed by coaching stints at Livingston and Colwyn Bay. Thereafter, after time playing in the USA, he worked as a football agent prior to becoming technical director at Stoke City and sporting director at Huddersfield Town.
