Lock, Phil
Phil Lock, from Launceston, joined Exeter City as a trainee in 1987 and, after signing professional in 1989, remained at the club until 1990.
Phil, who was a regular in City’s reserve team during his three-year stay, made a solitary first-team appearance in the Football League Trophy against Bristol Rovers in January 1990. His chances were somewhat further limited as the Grecians went from strength-to-strength during what became a championship-winning season.
After leaving St James’ Park, Phil stayed in the Exeter area and went into banking initially with NatWest. As of 2023 he was still in in the financial sector working as a private banker in Arbuthnot Latham’s Exeter office..
