Martin Finn

Martin started out with Boldmere St Michaels and made his first team debut at the age of 15.

He moved on to play for Sutton Coldfield Town, mainly in their youth side where he was spotted by a Grecian scout, in 1980, and offered the chance to trial with Exeter City.

He was awarded an apprenticeship with the Grecians and went on to make a handful of senior appearances for the reserves in the London Midweek League. making his League debut against Portsmouth.

But he was released by Exeter in 1987 and returned to the Midlands where he had spells with Paget Rangers and then re-joined Southern League Midland Division side Sutton Coldfield.

In the summer of 1988 he moved to Tamworth, who had just won promotion to the Southern Midland Division after being champions of the West Midlands (Regional) League. 

Martin was a hero hero of Tamworth`s FA Vase final at Wembley in May 1989.

The box-to-box midfielder hero has the distinction of being awarded the man-of-the-match award for both the initial game at Wembley and the replay at Peterborough! He played a large number of games for Tamworth.
