1992 Lafferty, Phil

Biographical Text

Phil, from St Austell, played for Exeter's youth team and reserves between 1992 and 1994 before a long career as a player and manager in Cornish football.

After leaving St James' Park, he played for St Austell before appearing for a number of other clubs ahead of returning to Poltair Park to oversee the club winning the SW Peninsula League and two Cornwall Senior Cups in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the FA Vase. During this period Phil also managed his side in a pre-season friendly against Exeter City in August 2015.

Phil later took joint-charge of the newly-constituted Kernow team (intended to take part in CONIFA competitions), and was also at the helm at St Blazey when ex-Grecian Lee Phillips was also briefly part of the management set-up.

Taking on a director of football-style role at Blaise Park in 2023, Phil was also proprietor of the Britannia Inn between Par and St Austell.
