Danny wrote in January 2020 that:.

"I started my career at Exeter City Football Club as an apprentice at the age of 16. My apprenticeship was a 2 year programme developing skill, technique and learning the tactical part of the game. After 2 years of hard work I was rewarded with a professional contract which was then playing for Exeter in Division 4. After several years of in and out of the first team and reserves I was eventually told I was not to be offered a new contract at a young age.

My career then changed focus to Academy and Community and I am still at the club today."

As of 2023 Danny was assistant manager, National Citizen Service officer and designated safeguarding officer for the City Community Trust.
