Biographical Text
Danny Harris was on City's books when at school and played for the under-18s between 1996 and 1998. During this time he scored in the FA Youth Cup against Arsenal. Subsequently a regular on the Westcountry non-league circuit for many years, he was later in a senior role with the City Community Trust.
Playing regularly for City's under-18s a highlight came when Danny helped City secure a draw against Arsenal in the FA Youth Cup.(with Ashley Cole getting the winner in the replay). Around the same time Danny was also a non-playing substitute in an FA Cup tie against Northampton Town.
His performances led to a one-year professional deal on top of his traineeship/apprenticeship and, on leaving St James' Park in 1999, he played for a number of clubs including Dawlish Town, Taunton Town (two spells) and Tiverton Town.
With City already expanding its' community and youth activities even before the supporters' trust took ownership, Danny was soon back on the scene performing a variety of roles and eventually became assistant manager, National Citizen Service officer and designated safeguarding officer for the City Community Trust.
