Wayne Noble was a professional with Exeter City during the early months of the 1987/88 season but did not make a first-team appearance. He had previous Football League experience with Bristol Rovers.
A winger, he had left school in 1983 to become a trainee with Bristol Rovers where he made twenty-two league appearances before being released in 1986.
Unsuccessful in his attempts to make a first-team breakthrough at St James’ Park, and having also been on trial with Norwich City, he subsequently signed for Yeovil Town. Leaving the Glovers in 1988, he embarked on a five-year stay with Gloucester City where he amassed over 250 first-team appearances ahead of turning out for Bath City, Clevedon Town, Trowbridge Town, Cheltenham Town, Salisbury City, Cinderford Town, Weston Super Mare and Clevedon Town.
