Phil Hartnell played at outside-left for Exeter City Youth against Bristol City Youth on 17/5/66 in the Wessex League Cup Final.
He who played for the reserves and the Colts in 1965/66.

Phil Hartnell played against, Bridport on the 13/11/1976. He continued to play for Exeter City in the Western league in 1977/78. 

He eventually left  Exeter City to become player-manager of Budleigh Salterton. Phil also played for Exmouth Town.
