Biographical Text
Telford-born defender Brian Clarke was a member of West Bromwich Albion's 1976 FA Youth Cup-winning team when he appeared in the final against Wolverhampton Wanderers. He had a trial with Exeter City in 1978.
Playing in that FA Youth Cup final. alongside Kevin Summerfield best-known for his time at Plymouth Argyle but who also made a handful of appearances during Exeter City's 1989/90 championship season, Brian remained at The Hawthorns until 1978.
He then had a two-month trial at St James' Park during the early stages of the 1978/79 season before signing for Telford United.
He later worked in newspaper advertising prior to setting up a business taking portrait, group and activiity photographs for schools.
