Biographical Text
Andy White played for Exeter City's youth and reserve teams between 1976 and 1979 on a paid but non-contract basis. He won the Western League with Barnstaple in 1980.
Scoring on both his youth and reserve team debuts, he once netted four times in a youth match against Plymouth Argyle and was soon joining the first-team for training on occasions. Appearing in first-team friendlies he remained with the club until 1979 before joining Barnstaple Town where he was a member of the side that won the Western League in 1979/80.
Later sharing his memories with the Grecian Archive Andy recalled that:
“One silly regret was missing the first team squad photo at the start of 77/78 season due to other commitments but made it in time for an individual photo before the press left that day.
Over the next two seasons I played mainly in the reserves and youth team under Chris Davey and Ken Ramsden. I also played in a number of first-team friendly matches with my most memorable playing alongside Tony Kellow and scoring twice in a 5-4 win at Bodmin".
