Previously with Clyst Rovers, he played for Exeter City Reserves in the Western League in 1972/73 when the team was re-entered after a five year break. 

Chris from Topsham Town fc, was the first "TeamFeePay" Volunteer of the Month winner in December 2025.

Showing unwavering commitment, Chris has dedicated countless hours not just to the club but to the wider community, hosting referee courses, Devon FA Roadshows, league meetings, and even opening as a polling station when needed. Never seeing himself as "just the chairman", he rolls up his sleeves for maintenance, cleaning, running the gate on matchdays and any small but vital job to help keep the club alive.
