Charles Parsons from Chagford, a regular goalscorer for the reserves in the Southern League, signed professional forms for Exeter City but never appeared in the Football League.

Aged twenty-two, and making a goalscoring debut for the reserves in the Southern League against Bath City in August 1922, he was the second team’s leading scorer that season with 14 goals out of the 43 scored.
