Biographical Text

Charlie Griffin, a teenager playing for Chippenham Town, had a trial with Exeter City in November 1998. He later featured in the Football League with Swindon Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Stevenage who he had helped gain promotion from the Conference in 2010.

Making an appearance for City’s reserves against Cardiff City, Charlie soon had a successful trial with Swindon Town where he went on to make 28 league appearances scoring twice.

Dropping out of the fully-professional game in 2001, he had productive spells with Woking, Chippenham (again) and Forest Green Rovers before winning a second chance in the Football League with Wycombe Wanderers in 2005 for whom he enjoyed 22 league outings scoring on three occasions.

The cycle then started again with his release from Adams Park in 2006 followed by a spell in non-league with Newport County and Salisbury before helping Stevenage Borough win promotion to the Football League in 2010.

Having scored the goal that secured promotion, he made fifteen appearances (three goals) in League Two in 2010/11 and later played for a string of non-league clubs within reach of his Bath home before finishing with Cirencester Town in 2015/16.
