Joe was on Yeovil Town’s books when at school before becoming a trainee at Exeter City in 2013 and a professional through until 2017. Upon his release Joe signed for Taunton Town before moving on to Bridport in 2018. After a short spell at Bridport, Joe returned to Taunton only to leave for Bideford in 2019.

After several seasons in North Devon, Joe played closer to home with Axminster Town in 2023/24 before moving on to Bridport ahead of the following campaign.
