Barnsley - Oakwell Stadium
Originally opened in 1888 and renovated between 1992-1999, Oakwell Stadium is home to Yorkshire club, Barnsley. The stadium was the site of a tragedy in December 1920, as Horace Fairhurst, a full-back for visiting team Blackpool, received a blow to the head during the league encounter. The twenty-seven year old died eleven days later as a result of the injury sustained during the match.
