1987 Roberts, Alan

Biographical Text

Cornish-born Alan Roberts was an Exeter City trainee in the late 1980s. Breaking a leg playing for City's reserves, he later joined Porthleven.

Originally from Porthleven between Helston and Penzance, he signed as an associated schoolboy around the age of fourteen wheh he was playing for Camborne Lions with whom City had a type of 'nursery club' arrangement. Arriving at City as a trainee, he broke a leg on his 18th birthday during his second year with the club in 1988/89.

Released at the end of the season, he turned out for Porthleven,  Illogan RBL and Hayle.
