Dave Gilroy, a striker from Bristol Rovers, played in pre-season friendlies against Tiverton Town and Torquay United ahead of the 2003/04 season before signing for Weston-super-Mare.

Starting his career with Bristol Rovers where he made nineteen league appearances scoring twice, he had also played on loan for Clevedon Town, Bath City and Forest Green Rovers during his time at the Memorial Ground.

Not taken on by City he spent two seasons with Weston-super Mare before generally moving between clubs within striking distance of Bristol including Chippenham Town, Bath City, Newport County, Frome Town and - between 2013 and 2016 - Cribbs.
