Peter Hitt made his debut against Dartford in Southern League match for the reserves on the 1st October 1955, he made a total of 4 apperances that season and 6 the following season for Exeter City's Southern League side. 
Peter generally played at full-back. 
However he was virtually an ever-present for the A team winning the Exeter and East Devon Senior league in 1956/57.
