Biographical Text

Formerly on the books as an amateur at Sunderland, Kenneth Wilkins signed his first professional deal in October 1949 with Southampton, but to feature in only two league matches for them.

He signed for Exeter City in October 1951, being described an industrious type of player. Making his debut for the reserves away at Dartford on the 17th November 1951. His stay at St James’ Park was to be a short one though, playing the first of his three league matches for the club in a 3-1 defeat at Northampton Town. He played a lot of games in the Southern League scoring 6 times.

Wilkins rejoined Southampton in July 1952, but only played one league match for them.

Kenneth died in August 1995, in Cape Town, South Africa.
