Biographical Text

Ken Wilkins made three league appearances for Exeter City in the early 1950s in between playing a similar number of games for Southampton. 

Formerly on the books as an amateur at Sunderland, he signed his first professional deal in October 1949 with Southampton but only featured in two league matches.

He signed for Exeter City in October 1951 being described 'an industrious type of player'. His stay at St James’ Park was to be a short one and, after making his debut in a 3-1 defeat at Northampton Town, he made just three league appearances for the first-team.

Ken rejoined Southampton in July 1952 but only played one league match before later moving to Cape Town where he died in August 1995.
