Dan Western was born in Exeter.

He was a youth player in 2008, with the U-16's developement squad at the Centre of Excellence in 2008/09.

He stayed at Exeter until 2012.

A midfielder Dan joined Bideford towards the end of the 2015/16 campaign after spending three years with Tiverton Town. Previous to that he played for a year at Willand Rovers after leaving the Grecians.
