From Cornwall, he was an Exeter City trainee between 2001 and 2003 having earlier played for both the under-17s and under-19s whilst still at school.

After enrolling on the football programme at the University of Bath, and playing for Team Bath (where he worked with Paul Tisdale), he became a chiropractor based in Hayle.
