Barrie Carless was an amateur who played for the reserves in the early 1960s.
He also played rugby and captained both Exeter and Devon before becoming one of the Exeter club's first coaches in the still-amateur era.
He taught in Exeter for thirty-seven years and died in 2020, having suffered with dementia, and had been active in charities and campaigns related to his condition.
