Russell Jee

Born Mid Devon 8 October 1981

Russell, from Cullompton, was a left wing back and son of former Wellington and Elmore defender Martin Jee. He was a regular member of the Devon Schools under-16 side in 1997/98. By this time Russell had been an associated schoolboy with City since the age of thirteen.

Russell was a trainee at Exeter from 1998 to 2000 and played in the South West Counties Youth League and the Devon and Exeter Youth league.

After leaving Exeter, Russell played for Tiverton Town making a solitary substitute appearance in April 2001. He then joined Bideford and later moved to Willand Rovers who, by now, were playing in the Western League.

Russell rejoined Tiverton in 2010 and played 79 games until leaving in 2013 to become assistant manager of Willand. The following season Willand reached the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup before Russell became manager in 2015.

Under Russell's guidance the Silver Street club was promoted to the Southern League in 2019

Russell stepped down in June 2022. In a statement the club said:

“There are simply not enough words of thanks and gratitude we can say to reflect the enormous respect the club has for this man and his family. With a young family and busy work schedule, Russ was unable to commit full-time to the managing of the side for next season and has made the difficult decision to stand down.”
