Orginally from Blandford Forum, Simon, a defender was with Yeovil Town when he joined Exeter City as a second year trainee in 1998.

He played for City in the South West Counties Youth League.

He later played for Dorchester Town, and Weymouth.
In 2002 he moved to Chard Town from Dorchester and in 2012/13 was playing for Poole Town after a spell in South Africa.
