Biographical Text
Adam Butterworth from Paignton was an Exeter City trainee between 1998 and 2000. He later made a fleeting appearance in the Football League for Cambridge United.
A striker, he had played for the under-17s whilst still at school and during his traineeship played for the first-team against Plymouth Argyle in the Devon St Luke's Bowl in May 1999. Also on the books of Torquay United, he had subsequent spells with Heybridge Swifts, Cambridge United (for whom he made a solitary substitute appearance in the league in May 2001) and Taunton Town.
Deciding to study sports managament at university in Plymouth in 2003, he moved away from the South West on graduation to start a long career with Goals, a provider of five-a-side football facilities.
