Joe played in the club's South West Youth League team. He was at Exeter City, with the U-18's developement squad at the Centre of Excellence in 2008/09.
 
He played against Bristol Rovers in the 1st half for the reserves in the Pontin's Football Combination on the 11th September 2007.
