Paul Hughes, a goalkeeper who had represented Exeter and East Devon Schools, was on schoolboy forms when he took over from the injured Ross Bellotti for a FA Youth Cup tie against Dulwich Hamlet in November 1995.
He had already played in for the club in the the Devon and Exeter Youth League when in year 10 at school and continued to make under-18 appearances through until 1996/97 and reserve appearances in 1997/98.
